Medicare

A Medicare Advantage Plan (like an HMO or PPO) is a Medicare Health Plan you may consider.   Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called “Part C” or “MA Plans,” are offered by private companies approved by Medicare. If you join a Medicare Advantage Plan, you still have Medicare but, you will get your Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance) coverage from the Medicare Advantage Plan, not Medicare.

Medicare Supplement

A Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policy helps pay some or all of the healthcare costs that   Medicare doesn’t cover, like co-payments, coinsurance and deductibles. Medigap policies are sold by private companies. Some Medigap policies also offer coverage for services that Medicare doesn’t cover, like medical care when you travel outside the U.S.
